Indianapolis, IN (Wednesday May 26, 2010)– The Art Institute of Indianapolis joined the Fazzt Race Team in their goal to reach out more to the younger Indy Racing League fans.  Students at Ai Indy were asked to design a logo, website and Hero card for children.  Ai Indy graphic design students Alex Noonan and Angie Fields created a logo for Fazzt Kidz and a hero card that is being passed out at Community Day at the Indianapolis Motor speedway today.  The Hero card is to racing what baseball cards are to baseball.  The Fazzt Kidz Hero card will have a picture of Fazzt Race Team driver Alex Tagliani on the front and information about him as well as a link to the website under construction.

The website, once completed, will include puzzles and games for young children to play as well as photos and informational videos by Alex Tagliani.  The interactive site is being created by Ai Indy Web Design & Interactive Media students Jason Luzader, Chris Johnson, Jake Kawaguchi, and Matt Turpin.  The hope is this site will educate and encourage the enthusiasm for the Indy Racing League among younger fans.

“This is a great project The Art Institute of Indianapolis and their students have undertaken for me and the FAZZT Race Team,” said Alex Tagliani, driver of the #77 FAZZT Race Team IndyCar.  “It’s nice to be able to have something that appeals to the kids and hopefully gets them interested in racing and learning about motorsport as they are our future as fans.”

Besides the joy of reaching out to the youth, the students at The Art Institute of Indianapolis receive invaluable experience.  Real world projects such as this one are encouraged and sought out for students to enhance their education and their portfolio.

“We were honored that Fazzt Race Team reached out to us for this project,” says Director of Career Services Kristen Robertson.  “Besides being a part of the most exciting racing event in the racing capital of the world, this experience will be invaluable to our students as they grow their skills for their future creative jobs.”
