August 9, 2010 — In association with Honda Canada, Alex Tagliani and the FAZZT Race Team will host a Honda Pit Stop Competition for race fans during the weekend of August 13 to 15 as part of Montreal’s Italian Week. Teams of two will compete on the Saint-Laurent Boulevard at the corner of Saint-Zotique site. It’s a unique opportunity for Montrealers and those visiting the metropolis to get an inside look at the stress IndyCar race team mechanics experience during each pit stop.
Departing from Indianapolis, the FAZZT Race Team transporter will arrive on site Friday, August 13, with the number 77 Honda Dallara Firestone single-seater, the same type of car piloted by Alex Tagliani in the IndyCar Series. Four competition sessions open to public, aged 18 and over, will take place from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, while Saturday’s 10 a.m. slot is reserved for teams made up of members of the press. Alex Tagliani, who finished fourth last weekend at Mid-Ohio, will be on site to answer media questions and sign autographs for fans who would like to stop by and say hello.
Prizes will be awarded to the three best teams from each of the five rounds of pit stops, including the media team round. Sennheiser, one of FAZZT Race Team’s partners, will offer the winning team from each round, premium headphones by Sennheiser, while makers of Slow Cow™ will provide each members of the winning teams with a four-pack of their relaxing beverage. A representative for the Make-A-Wish Canada Foundation will be on hand to collect donations for this charitable organization.
The Honda Pit Stop competitions, which are open to the public, will take place on Friday, August 13 at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 14 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 15 at 10 a.m. AND at 3 p.m.
